Aventus, by Creed, was created by non other than Olivier Creed in collaboration with his son, Erwin Creed, in 2010. The scent has held a position as one of the best sellers in the entire history of the brand.
Creed drew inspiration from the life of Napoleon Bonaparte -the self proclaimed emperor of France, and thus created a perfume which he felt reflected qualities he admired; mainly the ferocity with which he went after what he wanted. This even lies behind the name “Aventus” itself, an ancient word that translates to success.

Top Notes
We begin with Bergamot- a citrus scent with an almost spicy-floral feel; found abundantly in Italy, where the source of inspiration gained his fame.
This complex but simultaneously simple scent gives the fragrance an energizing and refreshing aura. The citrusy aroma is balanced out by the almost animalistic and rustic scent of the Blackcurrant leaves, which grows in the birthplace of Napoleon; Corsica.
This ingredient adds a soothing, uniqueness to the overall concoction.These are combined with the fruity notes brought upon by the addition of apples from France, and pineapples, his favourite dessert, to keep the overall fragrance more vibrant and sweet.
Middle Notes
The rosy sweetness of the Pink berries is balanced out by the woodiness of the birch; an ingredient that’s predominantly masculine, and sharp in its freshness.
Next we have Patchouli; known for the strength of the earthy, dark essence that it emanates.
The Moroccan Jasmine adds a floral essence to the scent, and is overall rejuvenating and energizing with it’s clean and sweet freshness.

The sweetness of the previous notes are counterpoised by the base notes- starting with the Musk.
